MetaTrader 5 is the next-generation trading terminal and successor of MetaTrader 4, providing traders with access to a range of financial markets, such as Forex, CFD, Futures and Cryptocurrencies.
This new multi-lingual platform gives traders the ability to analyze trading instruments with over 80 built-in indicators, view Market Depth data, build Expert Advisors in a robust environment and test them the innovative Strategy Tester. This new powerful testing environment allows developers to expose their automated strategies to more realistic trading conditions and features more settings for fine tuning.
When creating a MetaTrader 5 account, clients will have the option of a standard or hedged account, the latter of which allows the opening offsetting positions in the same way as MetaTrader 4. A standard MetaTrader 5 account displays positions as a "Net" position. That is, all offsetting positions are cancelled out leaving the trader with only a single Buy or a single Sell in one direction per instrument.

Important: Leverage is limited to a maximum of 1:200 just prior to high impact news releases for new positions. Leverage will also be limited to 1:200 during periods of extreme market volatility. Already-opened positions are not affected -- only new Buy and Sell orders sent for execution just prior and during to news releases and these extremely volatile conditions.
This also includes Buy Limit, Buy Stop, Sell Limit and Sell Stop pending orders that are triggered during a news release. These pending orders will only result in the opening of a new position if margin requirements under the reduced leverage are met, otherwise they will be cancelled by the system due to a lack of sufficient margin for execution. Note that any deposit bonuses are excluded from this margin calculation. This is to protect clients and help prevent accounts from attaining negative balances and large losses during moments of high volatility.
